Also, The station has old school classic hip hop. We know who the classics are. Just another example of what freedom the digital movement provides us now we can experience commercial free radio that plays what we like and puts us up on music we don’t even know that we like yet. I sent CHILLENEUM an email that asked what made him set up his own station. I copied his response so you can see he got back at me:

     To answer your question. My reason for setting up my own radio station was simple. I wanted to get rotation on a radio station. It surfaces another hurdle that independent artist have today when it comes to the industry. Radio station DJs don’t have the say so when it comes to what’s played on the radio. It’s about money. The record labels indirectly pay radio stations to play artists. I say indirectly because it’s against the law to bribe a radio station to pay to play your music. The stations make their money from advertisers and revenue derived from program managers. So what are we to do if we don’t want to hear the same shit over and over like they do on every station? Get your own. So I through Last.FM, I gathered a lot of the greats that I grew up listening to soul, Hip Hop, Neo Soul and all. Shit my station sounds better than the stations cracking in my city any time. Plus, you know there’s music from CHILLENEUM as well so I’m glad you enjoy listening. Start you a station too!
